Interactive workshop on sound and movement

Instructors: Artemis Vavatsika, Periklis Siountas

This workshop explores methods of expression and storytelling through movement and sound. Through interactive exercises and improvisation, participants will create short visual and sonic events using any available medium: voice, body, objects, or musical instruments.

Questions explored include: How is a stage convention created? How do I use the tools at my disposal (movement, sound, speech)? What do I see, hear, sense? How does this guide my reaction?

The accordion—its structure, visual presence, and shape-shifting qualities—serves as the source of inspiration.

The workshop is intended for musicians, dancers, actors, and anyone interested in exploring body and sound. Participants may bring their own materials (objects, texts, poems, music, etc.) to work with.
